Certification Overview

The GIPMC Certified Data Governance and Privacy Manager (CDGPM)® designation is the first certification that deals with data protection risks in a global and thorough way. The CDGPM® certification program covers international security standards and privacy laws to teach candidates how to safeguard personal and business data from risks within or outside information systems. Many global data security standards and privacy laws overlap to some extent, and the CDGPM® training program addresses them together to educate candidates on addressing risks and compliance requirements effectively. We believe that once CDGPM® candidates understand data protection risks and risk management processes, they can use industry best practices and standards to design data protection strategies and incident management plans based on identified risks while meeting regulatory requirements. Completing the CDGPM® Certification shows employers and others that the candidate has a strong understanding of data protection law and its practical implications for organizations in line with current legal requirements and the upcoming General Data Protection Regulation.

E-Course Duration: 15 to 20 Hours

Exam Information

  • The GIPMC exam has 50 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you need to get at least 35 of them correct, which is 70%.

  • Tests are done online and supervised using a webcam and a good internet connection. You can take the exams from anywhere and at any time.

  • The exam lasts for 1 hour, which is the same as 60 minutes.

  • During the exam with ProctorU, you can't use any outside sources for information. They'll give you more details about what materials you can use, like your ID.

  • If you don't pass the exam on your second try, you have to wait at least fourteen days before you can take it again for the third time or any time after that. You can take the exam as many times as you need.

  • The Certified Data Governance and Privacy Manager (CDGPM)® certification stays valid for your lifetime.

  • CDGPM® is a trademark registered by GIPMC.

  • N/A

  • The CDGPM® Certification from GIPMC doesn't require any prerequisites (You don't have to finish an E-Course from the GIPMCBok portal), but we strongly suggest completing the E-Course because many questions in the real exam come from it.
